I heat my home with wood during the winter, so I need many cords of wood split each year. I do all the work by hand without the use of a log splitter. Splitting wedges, this sweet sledge, and my trusty splitting maul.I split about 20 cords of wood this year, which is quite a bit. Most all of the wood I split is 15-30" rounds, almost all of it needing to be split in half with a sledge & wedges. It's all hardwood (oak, etc) - so the BASH sledge gets a lot of very hard use. I've more than put this through its paces, and it's gonna last a lot more years. Handle is in great shape (there aren't many mis-strikes to speak of) - and the head is very firmly on like when it was unpacked new.So, all in all this is a great product and I'd recommend it. Kinda pricey, but I like to buy once cry once.As one last note - this is a 10LB head, but the handle does add some decent heft to it, since it has steel rods in it. So, it will probably weigh more than you think. But hey, I'd rather have a product that lasts the test of time than have to go buy handles every year or so.
